The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) has announced that the Pink Line monorail extension from Si Rat Station to Muang Thong Thani is 97.81 per cent complete as of April 2025.
Northern Bangkok Monorail Company Limited has begun system testing, with trial runs planned for May and free public rides expected in late June. Full commercial service will start on July 19, 2025, with fares ranging from 15 to 22 baht and integration into the THB20t flat fare scheme by September 2025. The extension includes two new stations—IMPACT Muang Thong Thani and Lake Muang Thong Thani—featuring multiple exits and a direct skywalk to the IMPACT Convention Centre. This expansion aims to improve transit connectivity, reduce traffic congestion on Chaeng Watthana Road, and lower PM 2.5 pollution in Bangkok.
