As part of the government’s THB157 billion economic revitalisation programme, Thailand’s Ministry of Transport will disburse THB48.75 billion to six key agencies. The funding is aimed at fast-tracking infrastructure upgrades, supporting employment, and enhancing regional connectivity and tourism.
The Department of Highways (DOH) receives the largest share at THB32.18 billion to address traffic bottlenecks and improve road links to secondary cities. Other allocations include:
- Department of Rural Roads (DRR): THB14.72 billion for road safety and access to production and tourist zones.
- State Railway of Thailand (SRT): THB1.02 billion for railway safety upgrades.
- Department of Airports (DOA): THB765.9 million to improve airport services and safety.
- Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA): THB42 million to ease urban traffic.
- Transport Co: THB14.8 million to upgrade bus terminals and promote regional tourism.
All project contracts will be signed by September 2025, with construction beginning the same month. The initiative aims to provide short-term economic stimulus while establishing long-term transport resilience and safety.
