Indonesia’s telecom operator Telkomsel has stated that it intends to launch 4G services by the end of 2014. This comes after the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) granted a 4G licence to Telkomsel. The operator plans to launch these services initially in Bali in the first quarter of 2015, followed by Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Makassar, Yogyakarta, and Manado. Telkomsel has already conducted 4G trials on the long term evolution (LTE) networks in Bali.
