Steve Leonard has been appointed Executive Deputy Chairman of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA). In his new post, Leonard will have executive leadership responsibility of the IDA with a primary focus on industrial promotion and development. More specifically, he will take charge of manpower development for the information and communications sector, strategic planning, infrastructure development, the cultivation of innovative start-ups and local enterprises, and the supervision of different cross-sector programmes.

Leonard has served on the board of directors of IDA since 2009. He has more than 28 years of experience in the sector. He was President of EMC, Asia Pacific and Japan for over six years, Senior Leader for Symantec Software in Asia, and a senior executive with EDS Corporation in both Asia and Europe.

Leonard has a degree in business from Southern Methodist University.
