Frederic Andre M Trefois has been appointed as the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sterlite Electric. Trefois, who previously served as a non-executive independent director on the company’s board, will now assume executive leadership responsibilities, overseeing global operations and strategic direction. His appointment comes amid rising global demand for grid modernisation, driven by electrification, renewable integration, and the need for more resilient energy systems.

The company stated that Trefois brings a strong global perspective and sector expertise to support its expansion plans and reinforce its role in delivering reliable and sustainable power solutions. In his statement, he emphasised the importance of building intelligent and resilient grid systems, highlighting a focus on optimising asset performance, enhancing reliability, and supporting efficient capital investment.

Prior to joining Sterlite Electric, Trefois held leadership roles at Sécheron Hasler Group and SNC-Lavalin Inc, gaining experience across engineering, infrastructure, and power systems. An engineer by training, he holds degrees in civil engineering and brings extensive international experience to the role.

Sterlite Electric manufactures and supplies power transmission solutions, including conductors, power cables, and optical ground wire, along with system integration services. The company has expanded its global footprint, supplying products and services to over 70 countries, and is currently strengthening its manufacturing capacity with a new power cable plant in Vadodara, Gujarat.
