POSCO Energy Company Limited signed an MoU with the authorities of Vietnam’s central province of Nghe An on February 20, 2016 to build a thermal power plant in the region. The company will build the 1,200 MW Quynh Lap-2 thermal power plant in Vinh city. The company earlier completed construction and started operation of the Mong Duong 2 coal-fired power plant in Vietnam’s northern province of Quang Ninh in October 2015. In the Mong Duong 2 plant, POSCO has a partnership with the AES Corporation of the US and the China Investment Corporation.
