According to the latest growth rate statistics released for January 2016 by Airports of Thailand Plc, the aviation sector recorded modest growth in various segments over the same period the previous year. Aircraft movement recorded a growth rate of 11.7 per cent and 8.32 per cent at 3,695 and 2,492 for the international and domestic segments respectively. Overall, aircraft movement increased to 6,187, growing at a rate of 10.06 per cent. Passenger movement increased at the rate of 13.84 per cent and 15.86 per cent for international and domestic travel respectively. The overall increase in passenger movement was 1,399,437 and the growth rate stood at 14.7 per cent. Total cargo movement recorded a growth rate of 3.72 per cent.
