South East Asia Telecom has partnered with China-based ZTE to deploy a frequency division duplex-long term evolution (LTE) network in Cambodia. According to the agreement, ZTE will be the exclusive provider of end-to-end 4G solutions and products, including network evolved packet core, microwave, power, internet protocol (IP) radio access network, bearer and online charging system. The service launch is in line with South East Asia Telecom’s plans to invest $400 million over the next two to three years to deploy its 4G LTE network across Cambodia. The operator has already invested nearly $100 million in Cambodia. This initial investment was used to acquire the company’s headquarters in capital Phnom Penh and purchase 5,500 km of fibre cable optic.
