Solarvest Holdings Berhad has been appointed as the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contractor and technology partner for a MYR1.06 billion solar project in Malaysia.
The project, awarded by Malakoff Corporation Berhad through its subsidiary, will be developed in Perak with an installed capacity of 690 MWp, making it one of the largest solar PV projects in ASEAN. Spanning approximately 1,400 acres, the facility is expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2028.
Once completed, the plant is projected to generate around 970,000 MWh of electricity annually, supplying power to about 230,000 households. The development is positioned as a key component of Malaysia’s energy transition, supporting energy security while reducing reliance on conventional fuels.
The project will incorporate advanced solar technologies and is expected to integrate smart grid systems and battery energy storage solutions to improve grid stability and manage intermittency. It also strengthens Solarvest’s growing project pipeline as the country prepares for future renewable energy tenders under its national transition roadmap.
