The Malaysian government has awarded Tenaga National Berhad (TNB), Mudajaya Group Berhad, Malakoff Corporation Berhad and Integrated Logistics Berhad separate contracts to construct four large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) plants in Selangor, Perak and Kedah under a build-own-operate arrangement. TNB will build a 50 MW plant in Kuala Langat, Selangor, following a competitive bid process. Further, Mudajaya Group Berhad will develop a 49 MW solar PV plant at Kuala Kangsar at an estimated investment MYR 270 million. The award is expected to be finalised by February 2017. The construction period for the project is 18 months after contract finalisation.
