Strides Transportation Private Limited, a SMRT Corporation subsidiary, has signed an agreement with Shapoorji Pallonji Group (SP Group), a utilities provider, to deploy high-speed chargers across Singapore. Both firms have agreed to establish an electrification-as-a-service scheme that will involve the delivery and management of a broad range of electric vehicles (EV), as well as EV charging infrastructure and a digital management platform. Strides will deliver the service by utilising SP’s high-speed public EV charging network.

The Government of Singapore has allocated SGD30 million to fund EV-related initiatives over the next five years, which includes expanding current charging infrastructure in the country. Singapore expects to have 60,000 charging stations at public and private premises by 2030.
