San Miguel Corporation (SMC) has announced plans to construct three expressway projects worth PHP328.84 billion in Luzon in the Philippines. The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) has finalised the engineering design for the PHP152 billion Southern Access Link Expressway (SALEX). This 40.65-km-long elevated expressway network includes the Shoreline Expressway and extensions of the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3: the C3-R10 Extension, Quirino Extension, and Buendia Extension.
The PHP28.15 billion South Luzon Expressway Toll Road 5 (SLEX TR5), Segment 1, is expected to start construction in 2025. This segment will stretch around 61 km from the end of SLEX Phase II in Lucena City to Gumaca, Quezon, featuring four interchanges and necessary toll plazas.
The 148.30-km-long Northern Access Link Expressway (NALEX) is set to begin construction in Q4 2024. NALEX Phase 1 will connect Metro/Mega Manila, the New Manila International Airport, and Central Luzon, extending from the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 at Balintawak. Phase 2 will extend from Masantol, Pampanga, to Tarlac City
