Smart Axiata was declared the Best Telecommunications Company and Best Corporate Social Responsibility Company, Cambodia, by the Global Banking & Finance Review, for the year 2015.

During 2015, Smart collaborated with UNESCO and the Ministry of Education to counter illiteracy, helping 92,000 Cambodians across the nation learn to read and write. It is partnering with Sipar to realise a “Mobile Library” campaign, with librarians and vans carrying books across the country to provide materials, and encourage and assist children to read more books.

For the past six years, Smart has helped Happy Football Cambodia Australia to send a delegation to the annual Homeless World Football Cup, thereby giving some of the assumed 100,000 homeless people in Cambodia hope for a better life.

Smart sponsors many marathon events in the country to provide a platform for everyone to run and to discover Cambodia’s true athletes. Smart Axiata, in partnership with JCI, also engages annually in tree planting and cleanup activities.

Smart Axiata launched its first ever Sustainability Report in 2015, detailing the company’s sustainable operations and corporate sustainability activities throughout 2014.
