Sinosteel Engineering and Technology has bagged the $1.1 billion worth engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) award for setting up a 700 MW coal-fired power plant in Cambodia. Sinosteel’s wholly owned Sinosteel Equipment and Engineering unit and a local firm, Botum Sakor Energy, have signed the EPC contract. Sinosteel Equipment and Engineering will undertake the design, procurement and supply of equipment and materials, as well as construction, installation and commissioning services. The contract involves the construction of two new 350 MW engine units and ancillary production and transmission facilities as well as a dedicated coal terminal.
