Singapore LNG Corporation (SLNG) has secured approval to develop, own and operate the second liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in the country.  The second SLNG terminal will be located on an LNG ship. The terminal will have a gas supply capacity of up to 5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and will be further connected to the country’s gas pipeline grid through an onshore gas pipeline.

The facility will be operational in 2033.

The first SLNG terminal is an onshore terminal which has a gas supply capacity of up to 10 MPTA.

The terminal was constructed at an investment of USD1.7 billion and began commercial operations in 2013. The 40-hectare terminal is located in Jurong Island.
