Opening of the road tunnel section of the 21.5 km North-South Corridor (NSC) in Singapore has been delayed by two years till 2029. The SGD7.47 billion integrated transport corridor will be completed in phases from 2027, with the 8.8 km viaduct section from Admiralty Road West to Lentor Avenue slated to open first. Once the 12.3 km underground road tunnel opens, the corridor it will link Lentor Avenue to East Coast Parkway.
Once open to commuters, the NSC will alleviate congestion on the Central Expressway (CTE), Thomson Road and Marymount Road. Travel time between Woodlands, Sembawang, Yishun and Ang Mo Kio to the city will be reduced by up to 30 minutes.
