Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced the arrival of new light rail vehicles for the Bukit Panjang LRT line. The new rail cars will replace the existing rolling stock on the line that has been operating for 20 years.

The new LRT vehicles will feature a high ventilation cooling system and smart climate control systems as well as improved door systems to increase safety and reduce disruptions. Lighting system on the cars are also more energy efficient by using LED lights.

The 7.3 km Bukit Panjang LRT is one of the oldest LRT systems in Singapore and is currently undergoing a huge makeover to increase efficiency of the system.
