Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded a USD269.8 million civil contract to a joint venture (JV) company comprising Singapore Engineering and Construction and Sinohydro Corporation for the construction of the Pasir Ris East station. Under the terms of the contract, the JV company will undertake the design and construction of the station, under the first phase of the Cross Island Line (CRL) project.

Construction work on the station will start in Q2 2022 with passenger services scheduled to commence in 2030. The new station will be located along Pasir Ris Drive 1.

The CRL is the eighth high-capacity mass rapid transit (MRT) line in Singapore that is currently under construction. The line will be constructed in three phases with CRL1 being the first phase. The CRL1 will be 29 km long with 12 stations from Aviation Park to Bright Hill.
