The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced plans to build a new bus depot in Yishun Avenue 8, Singapore by 2029. The agency has called for a tender to construct the multi-storey bus depot with works scheduled to start in 2024.

The new depot will consist of a four-storey main building, multi-storey quarters and subsidiary buildings. It will be able to house around 500 buses. The main depot building will have facilities for daily bus operations, bus repair and maintenance, bus parking and electric bus charging as well as rooftop solar panels.

Additionally, LTA will also commence the construction works on Pasir Panjang and Lorong Halus depots in 2024. The new Pasir Panjang bus depot will have a seven-storey main building which can accommodate 550 buses. 

The LTA also has plans to construct five other bus depots with the Sengkang West depot and Gali Batu depot are expected to be completed in 2024, the East Coast depot and Kim Chuan depot expected to be completed in 2025 and the Tengah depot expected to be completed in 2026.
