Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced plans to build the Bayshore Flyover, linking Bedok South Road to the East Coast Parkway (ECP). Construction will begin in 2026, with phased completion from 2029 and full completion by 2030. The flyover aims to improve access for Bayshore, Upper East Coast, and surrounding areas, supporting the development of 10,000 new homes. LTA’s tender documents indicate the project will include a dual four-lane road, slip roads, a pedestrian link to East Coast Park, and cycling paths. The ECP will also be widened with an additional city-bound lane near Laguna Flyover.
The flyover will complement the upcoming Bayshore and Bedok South MRT stations, improving public transport connectivity. LTA also plans a transit-priority corridor with bus-only lanes and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure. Some residents welcome the project for easing congestion but express concerns about potential noise and increased traffic. More details will be announced when the construction contract is awarded in the second half of 2025.
