The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded a USD241 million civil contract for the construction of two Jurong Region Line (JRL) stations and a related viaduct to China Harbour (Singapore) Engineering Company (CHEC), a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC). The contract covers the design and development of JS9 and JS10 stations and the construction of a 1.5-km viaduct connecting the two stations that will stretch over Jalan Boon Lay and Jurong Central Park. Construction on the project will start in May 2021 and is expected to be completed by 2029.

CHEC is currently constructing the Siglap station on the Thomson-East Coast Line. The JRL is an elevated mass rapid transit (MRT) line in Singapore’s western region that is currently under development. The line will connect Jurong Innovation District, Jurong Industrial Estate, Pandan Reservoir, Tengah and NTU that have no current direct connection to the rail system.
