Singapore and India have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to collaborate on maritime digitalisation and decarbonisation, paving the way for a future Singapore-India Green and Digital Shipping Corridor (GDSC). The LOI was signed by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and India’s Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MOPSW), in the presence of senior government officials from both countries.

The partnership aims to accelerate the adoption of zero or near-zero greenhouse gas emission technologies and digital solutions. India, a leader in information technology and a potential exporter of green marine fuels, will complement Singapore’s role as a global transshipment and bunkering hub. The LOI also outlines plans to identify key stakeholders and formalise the partnership through a future memorandum of understanding (MoU).

The Singapore-India GDSC is expected to drive innovation in maritime sustainability and improve connectivity between the two nations’ ports.
