Seatrium Limited (SEAT.SI) has installed a floating Energy Storage System (ESS) in Singapore, which is expected to commence operations by Q1 2024. The storage system was developed in partnership with Singapore’s Energy Market Authority (EMA) and this is the first floating and stacked ESS in Southeast Asia.
The ESS will operate as an energy reservoir by capturing the surplus energy during low demand and releasing it during peak power consumption periods.
The facility has a maximum storage capacity of 7.5 MWh and can meet the electricity needs of more than 600 four-room HDB households in a day in the country.
