Singapore allocated more than SGD3.7 billion (USD2.8 billion) in green-bond proceeds to the Jurong Region Line (JRL) and Cross Island Line (CRL) during the financial year ended March 31, 2026. The allocation comprised SGD2.1 billion from 30-year green bonds issued in June 2024, SGD1.5 billion from 50-year green bonds issued in October 2024 and SGD142.1 million from 30-year green bonds issued in May 2025. Total green-bond allocations to the two projects have reached SGD9.3 billion (USD7.0 billion) since Singapore’s inaugural green-bond issuance in 2022.
The 24-km JRL, comprising 24 stations, is expected to be completed in 2029, while the Cross Island Line, with more than 50 km of tracks, is scheduled for completion by 2032. Together, the lines are projected to avoid 99,900–122,100 tonnes of CO₂e annually and support the expansion of Singapore’s rail network to around 360 km by 2030.
