Siemens Mobility has secured a contract from Dhaya Maju Infrastructure (Asia) Sdn Bhd for the Klang Valley Double Track Phase 2 (KVDT2) project in Malaysia. The contract involves implementing signalling solutions along 106 km of railway tracks. These solutions include the Trackguard Westrace MK II interlocking system, Clearguard ACM 250 track vacancy detection system, Sigmaguard LED Signals, and R5 9 DC track circuits.
The KVDT2 commuter rail route, which has been operational for 25 years, spans 29 stations across the suburban areas of Klang Valley. The work on the line includes replacing old tracks, upgrading communication systems, and refurbishing stations.
The KVDT2 project strengthens Siemens Mobility’s existing relationship with Malaysia and supports the Government of Malaysia’s infrastructure development plans. It will be operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB).
In addition to the KVDT2 project, Siemens Mobility has also been awarded contracts for other railway projects in Malaysia, including the Klang Valley LRT Line 3 and the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit Link. They will also provide technical support for maintenance, repair, and overhaul of KTMB trains.
