Sembcorp Power Private Limited, a unit of Sembcorp Industries Limited, has secured two power purchase agreements (PPAs) from United States-based Equinix Incorporation to supply renewable and conventional energy for up to 18 years in Singapore.
Sembcorp Power will supply up to 75 MWp of solar capacity and 30 MW from its gas-fired generation portfolio. Equinix is procuring the electricity for its data centres in Singapore. The renewables PPA is Equinix’s first such power supply agreement in the country.
The PPA for conventional power will increase Sembcorp’s long-term contracted gas-fired capacity in Singapore from 74 to 77 per cent.
