Siemens and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of the Philippines have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to advance their collaboration in promoting Industry 4.0 and e-Mobility in the country. This MoU aims to explore cooperation areas to meet the needs of the Philippines’ industrial and infrastructure sectors.

In 2019, Siemens and DTI initially signed an MoU to enhance collaboration and facilitate exchanges in driving the digital transformation of the manufacturing sector. This partnership led to a project for Siemens’ Digital Industries business to conduct a feasibility study to conceptualize DTI’s Industry 4.0 Pilot Factory in 2022. The newly signed MoU builds on this foundation, focusing on establishing the Industry 4.0 Pilot Factory.

The planned Industry 4.0 Pilot Factory will showcase digital and automation technologies accessible to manufacturing companies, particularly Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs). Siemens and DTI will also explore developing use cases of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
