Japan-based Shizen Energy Incorporation has announced that its joint venture (JV) PT ATW Alam Hijau (Alam Energy) has secured an USD2.6 million loan to complete rooftop solar power installations in Indonesia. The JV comprises Shizen Energy, Alamport Incorporation, NiX JAPAN Company Limited and ATW Group. The scope of work will include developing, constructing, and operating solar power installations for commercial and industrial (C&I) customers.

The project-based financing was provided by PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (PT SMI) under the Ministry of Finance of Indonesia. This financing will enable manufacturers and other customers in Indonesia to convert part of their electricity consumption to renewable energy sources, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions from their business operations and contributing to the government’s goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2060.
