Porsche Asia Pacific and Shell have announced a partnership to install high-speed direct-current (DC) charging for electric vehicles (EVs) in six Shell stations in Singapore and Malaysia, with each station offering two points. The selected high-performance charging (HPC) stations will be positioned along Malaysia’s North-South Highway, allowing EV drivers to go on longer trips.

The charging stations will be fitted with 180 kW DC chargers and two CCS Type 2 connectors. The stations will be constructed in phases, with the first four stations scheduled to open in the second half of 2021 and the remaining two in the first half of 2022.These stations will complement the current network of charging points in Shell stations and Porsche centres in both the countries. This includes 175 kW chargers at all Porsche centres in Malaysia along with 50 kW quick charge points in both countries.

Shell will also provide added benefits to Porsche by including the ability to reserve HPC points in Malaysia ahead of time through an app, as well as offers on food and beverages at Shell outlets.
