Passenger service on the Jakarta–Bandung high speed rail (HSR) line in Indonesia is expected to commence from June 2023. As of October 2022, construction works are 90 per cent complete.

Trials on the Tegalluar–Kopo section are scheduled to commence in November 2022. The HSR line is expected to reduce the journey time from Jakarta to Bandung from three hours to around 40 minutes. The project is being developed at an investment of USD7.8 billion by Kereta Cepat Indonesia-China (KCIC).

The trains, manufactured by CRRC Qingdao Sifang Railway Company, are equipped with 625,000 watts electric motors and advanced grade of automation (GoA) technology. They are designed to reach a maximum speed of 350 km/hr.
