Sarawak Energy has received five awards at the Asian Power Awards 2024. Recognitions included Power Utility of the Year, Smart Grid Project of the Year, and Hydro Power Project of the Year (Bronze), among others. The accolades highlight the company’s strides in digital transformation and sustainable hydropower advancements, underscoring its commitment to becoming a top-tier digital utility by 2025.
The company’s digitalisation efforts include the deployment of smart grid technologies and the establishment of its first Digital Power Plant in 2023. Sarawak Energy has also expanded its renewable energy initiatives, such as trading Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) from its hydropower facilities. These developments align with Sarawak’s Digital Economy Strategy and its goal to achieve 10GW of generation capacity by 2030.
