The Ministry of Transport (MoT) of Vietnam has formed a 15-member appraisal council to review the pre-feasibility study for the Thu Thiem-Long Thanh railway project. Estimated at VND85 trillion, the 45.26 km railway will connect Ho Chi Minh City to Long Thanh International Airport, featuring elevated, underground, and ground-level tracks, designed for speeds up to 120 km/hr.

The electrified railway, expected to handle 40,000 passengers per hour per direction, will integrate with Metro Line 2 and other key rail networks. Construction is expected to begin by 2030.
