Malaysia-based offshore services provider Sapura Energy, through its drilling arm Sapura Drilling, has secured multiple contracts for drilling services worth over USD720 million. The company won two contracts from PTTEP Energy Development Limited for the deployment of its tender assist drilling rigs, Sapura T-17 and Sapura T-18, starting in the second quarter of fiscal year 2026 with a five-year firm period and a three-year extension option. Additionally, Sapura Drilling received a contract extension from Cabinda Gulf Oil Company, a Chevron subsidiary, for the Sapura Jaya rig, extending operations until November 2025.
Other contracts include a 30-month drilling project for ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia using the Sapura Berani rig and a contract with EnQuest Petroleum Production Malaysia for drilling four development wells with the Sapura Esperanza rig, both commencing in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026. With a fleet of five semi-tender rigs and six tender barge rigs, Sapura Drilling remains the largest drilling contractor in Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, Sapura Energy’s Engineering and Construction division has also secured key projects in Brazil and Australia, contributing to a total order book of USD1.96 billion.
