Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Limited (SLNG) has awarded an EPC contract to South Korea-based Samsung C&T Corporation for the third phase of Singapore’s LNG terminal, which is located in Jurong Island. The LNG Terminal Extension Phase 3 Project will add a fourth LNG storage tank and more regasification facilities to the existing LNG terminal. The storage tank, with a capacity of 260,000 cubic metres, will be the largest of its kind in the world. The terminal expansion will increase the send-out capacity from 6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to 11 mtpa. The project, estimated at $542 million, is slated to be completed by 2018.
