Royal Brunei Airlines plans to expand its capacity by 40 per cent through the inclusion of eight more aircraft in its fleet in 2018. This will take the total number of aircraft owned by the company from 10 to 14. Once all the aircraft are delivered, Brunei’s aviation market is expected to grow by 30 per cent.

At present, Brunei’s aviation market is the smallest in Southeast Asia, with annual passenger traffic of less than 2 million; it had experienced the slowest growth among the 10 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries during the previous decade.
