The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced that ridership on Singapore’s MRT lines and bus networks have reached 78 per cent of pre-pandemic level as of the end of April 2022. Most of the increase in ridership comes as COVID-19 related restrictions are eased in the country.

During the same period, the number of commuters using public transport during the morning peak also increased from 59 per cent of 2019 levels in January 2022 to 76 per cent currently. Commuters who tapped out at stations in the central business district during the morning rush hour remained at 51 per cent.

According to LTA, commuters using Singapore’s taxi and private-hire car services during the last week of April 2022 remained at about 81 per cent of pre-Covid-19 levels.
