reNIKOLA Holdings Sdn Bhd plans to issue up to RM390 million worth of green sukuks in Malaysia. The issuance has been verified by RAM Sustainability Sdn Bhd to comply with the Climate Bonds Standard and Certification Scheme. This is the first certified green sukuk issuance in the world.
The proceeds will be used to refinance three large-scale solar power plants, with a combined capacity of 88 MWp, in Perlis and Pahang.
