The Department of Transportation (DOTr) of the Philippines has announced that the Quezon City section of the Manila Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Line-7, which includes 12 stations, is set to be operational by Q4 2025. Further, it was announced that the Tala Station in Caloocan City will be completed by 2026, and the San Jose del Monte Station in Bulacan will be finished by 2027.

Additionally, DOTr is collaborating with the local government of San Jose del Monte to realign the railway routes for better service and DOTr is considering building two stations in the city instead of one to enhance accessibility.

The overall progress of the 22-km-long MRT Line 7, which includes 14 stations connecting Quezon City to San Jose del Monte, was at 69.86 per cent as of April 2024. This train line is expected to reduce travel time between these areas to just 35 minutes.
