Indonesia’s state-owned infrastructure financier, PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (PT SMI), has allocated IDR26.9 trillion (USD1.6 billion) to the renewable energy sector, making it the second-largest recipient of the firm’s total financing commitments. As of September 2025, PT SMI’s overall financing and investment commitments stood at IDR74.2 trillion, distributed mainly across roads and toll roads (34.42 percent), renewable energy (22.54 percent), transportation (12.1 percent), and electric power (11.7 percent).
PT SMI has also extended IDR17.6 trillion in financing to local governments for projects in roads, water resources, health, housing, and education. Additionally, it has provided IDR120.5 trillion for 120 National Strategic Projects (PSN) worth IDR677.5 trillion, covering road, power, transport, and water infrastructure.
