PSA International reported that its net profit rose by 10.7 per cent to reach S$1.3 billion in 2012. Its domestic terminals handled 31.3 million TEUs of container traffic in 2012, an increase of 6.4 per cent, compared to 2011. PSA’s international terminals processed 28.8 million TEUs in 2012, exceeding the 2011 figure by 3.9 per cent. PSA-operated international terminals include Sines (Portugal), Mersin (Turkey), Genoa (Italy), Chennai (India), Dongguan (China), and Busan (South Korea). Meanwhile, PSA’s Singapore terminals plan to invest S$3.5 billion in technological advancements and automation to achieve total container capacity of 50 million TEUs per year by 2020.
