Prasarana Malaysia Bhd will acquire an additional 150 electric buses (e-buses) to support the light rail transit (LRT)-3 project in Klang Valley. The company is also planning to build three e-bus depots and has earmarked RM 600 million for the development.
The 37.8-km-long LRT-3, also called the LRT Shah Alam Line, will cover 25 stations from Bandar Utama to Johan Setia and is expected to commence operations by March 2025.
Moreover, plans have been announced under the Budget 2024, for cash rebates for electric motorcycles and the extension of tax breaks for electric vehicle (EV) chargers and EV leasing.
