PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PT PLN), a state-owned utility company will construct a 40 MW geothermal power plant in Ulumbu in Indonesia. Five production well locations will supply steam to the power plant, while the brine produced will be returned to the two re-injection wells. Pre-construction activities have already commenced for the facility.

The Ulumbu geothermal area is one of six sites that will aid Flores Island add 115 MW in new geothermal power generation capacity by 2028. Early in 2022, PT PLN invited bids from interested parties to undertake the development of Ulumbu and Mataloko power projects.
