State-owned electricity provider PT PLN has obtained a EUR6.5 million grant from the European Union (EU) and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) to support Indonesia’s clean energy transition. The funding was formalised during the launch of the Indonesia Energy Transition Facility (IETF) on February 5, 2025, in collaboration with the French Embassy and the EU.
This initiative underscores global efforts to combat climate change. PLN Finance Director Sinthya Roesly stated that the funds will be used for renewable energy generation, transmission projects, and capacity-building programs.
