Bakti has announced plans to build 630 base transceiver stations (BTS) in remote regions, including challenging areas in eastern Indonesia like Papua, by the end of 2024. The project aims to bring vital communication services to isolated communities, fostering economic growth and improving public services.

These regions are difficult to access due to harsh geographical conditions and security concerns, making infrastructure development particularly challenging. To navigate these challenges, Bakti is collaborating with the Armed Forces and the National Police of Indonesia. The initiative is part of a broader effort to improve connectivity across the country. However, Bakti faces additional challenges from local government practices, including unclear fees and complex permit processes, which hinder ICT infrastructure development.
