The Provincial Government of Long An Province has announced plans to propose building three bridges along Provincial Road 827E to enhance connectivity with Ho Chi Minh City and Tien Giang Province in Vietnam.
These bridges will connect the Can Giuoc, Vam Co Dong, and Vam Co Tay rivers, aiming to improve traffic flow and ease congestion on major national highways at Ho Chi Minh City’s western gateway. The project, expected to be completed between 2025 and 2030, includes a steel-arch bridge over the Can Giuoc River spanning 568 meters, a cable-stayed bridge over the Vam Co Dong River spanning 1,350 meters, and another bridge over the Vam Co Tay River spanning 1,410 meters. The estimated cost of the bridges is around VND4.8 trillion, with a significant portion funded through South Korea-based official development assistance (ODA) loans. Additionally, road development projects leading to these bridges will cost over VND3 trillion.
