The Provincial Government of Da Nang has announced plans to develop a Dubai-style floating city featuring five artificial islands, potentially extending its coastline by 48 km in Vietnam. The project aims to position the city as a premier international financial and service hub, according to Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang.

The envisioned marine urban development, inspired by Dubai’s iconic coastline projects, has received backing from top national leadership, including General Party Secretary To Lam. It would make Da Nang the first designated sea city in Vietnam.

In parallel, the National Assembly is preparing to debate the creation of international financial centers in both Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. A proposed free trade zone is also under review to attract global capital and talent, supporting sustainable economic growth and job creation.

Feasibility studies are ongoing to determine investment strategies and long-term socio-economic impacts, with the project expected to transform Da Nang’s global profile over the coming decades.
