The Provincial Government of Davao Oriental has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Dy Green Energy to develop the first 50 MW solar power plant in the province of the Philippines.

As per the MoA, the plant will be located on a 40-hectare land in Barangay Maputi in Banaybanay. The government will acquire this land and lease it to Dy Green Energy for fifteen years. The company will supply power to the Davao Oriental Electric Cooperative (DORECO) through a power supply agreement (PSA), which will generate clean electricity to power homes and businesses in the province.

The project will commence once the land acquisition process is completed and all required permits and licences are obtained.
