The Airports of Thailand (AoT) has begun the designing phase for the expansion of Phuket International Airport. The project is expected to cost THB6 billion. Design and development work will last till 2024.
The plan includes the expansion of the international terminal building. The project, which is expected to be completed in 2027, will increase the handling capacity to 12 million passengers annually for the international terminal and 18 million passengers annually for the domestic terminal.
