PhilTower MIDC and DITO Telecommunity Corporation have signed a strategic agreement to enhance telecommunications infrastructure across the Philippines. The partnership focuses on colocation management, allowing DITO to utilize PhilTower’s facilities for network expansion and streamlined maintenance. Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU), PhilTower will provide access to 6,500 additional towers for shared use among mobile network operators, accelerating digital access and reducing infrastructure redundancies.
The deal as a key step toward delivering world-class connectivity to Filipinos, while PhilTower MIDC highlighted the role of infrastructure sharing in expanding coverage. The collaboration also aligns with the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s goals of optimizing resources and minimising environmental impact. It is expected to improve connectivity in underserved regions and support the adoption of emerging technologies.
