The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental plans to install 1,270 kW of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems across seven Capitol facilities in the Philippines by the end of 2024. Tenders for the project will be announced in Q3 2024, with potential savings of PHP1.5 million to PHP1.8 million each month at the current rate of PHP12 per kWh.
The initiative follows an energy audit conducted in 2023, leading to the decision to adopt solar panels. La Carlota City Hall has been using a 100-KW solar PV system since February 2024.
